Poem 1: The Storm

The stars begin to blink into view

While a harsh, salty wind blows.

The temperature drops.

The full moon glows in the sky

And illuminates the peaks of untamed waves.

The loud rushing

Of the immense waves crashing upon the shore

That pull your ankles towards the open sea.

The stars flicker

As they begin to disappear one-by-one

Behind the gloomy, fast clouds.

A threatening clap of thunder echoes from above

To cry a warning of the storm to come.
